BARÁTH, Zoltán – Ordeals of a Train Journey
For Trombone Quartet Level: Hard | Duration: ca. 8′ 00” |
Based on the well-known Hungarian folk-inspired melody Megy a gőzös Kanizsára, this programmatic work tells the story of a remarkable train journey. The train sets off cheerfully, passing through changing landscapes, countries, and cultures along the way. Celebrating travel, encounter, and cultural connection, the piece also incorporates improvisational elements, offering performers creative freedom and engagement.
It is an excellent choice for advanced secondary music students, conservatory pre-college students, and university-level trombonists seeking a musically rewarding and imaginative chamber work.
